Exploring-Innovation International

Description 

This call for projects is aimed at industrial companies of various sizes, and academic partners who wish to explore a technology as described in the Exploration-Innovation Program and who wish to work in partnership with partners outside Quebec to:

• Develop and expand science and technology relationships with industrial and academic ecosystems outside Quebec. 
• Increase the visibility of Quebec’s expertise and innovations on a national and international scale. 
• Foster the development of world-class Quebec scientists and niches of excellence. 

Eligibility 

The collaborative research partnership must consist of at least:

• 2 companies: 1 from Quebec and 1 from outside Quebec. 
• 2 research organizations: 1 university/college and/or research centre in Quebec and 1 research organization outside Quebec. 

Financing 

Financial assistance from CRIAQ* can cover up to 50% of the total monetary value of the project.

• Private industrial partners must contribute together a minimum of 20% of the total monetary value of the project. 
• Maximum CRIAQ assistance per project: 

• $300,000 CA for a project with a minimum partnership in Quebec and a country/province outside Quebec (1 company and 1 research organization in Quebec and the same in the country/province of collaboration). 
• $500,000 CA for a multilateral project (1 company and 1 research organization in Quebec and the same in 2 collaborating countries/provinces). 
• $1,500,000 CA for a large-scale project (e.g. collaboration with several European countries under programs such as Horizon Europe or Eureka). 

CRIAQ’s project portfolio team will help you prepare your budget with proven tools to pre-qualify and get financing.  *CRIAQ project funding comes entirely from the Programme de soutien aux organisations (PSO volet 2) of Quebec’s Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie (MEIE).
