Call Details
This call for proposals is aimed at Quebec SMEs, in collaboration with other SMEs or larger companies, seeking to initiate research projects that demonstrate strong potential for reducing GHG emissions in Quebec.
- Maximum Funding: $450,000, up to 50% of eligible expenses
- Private Contributions: Minimum of 50% of eligible expenses
- Projects must be carried out in collaboration with another company or an eligible stakeholder (IRPQs are not eligible partners but can act as subcontractors).
- Public organizations (municipalities, ministries, transportation companies, etc.) are now eligible as partners, with a maximum contribution of 10% of total expenses.
- Maximum Project Duration: 2 years
Eligibility
- Demonstrate strong potential for reducing GHG emissions in Quebec;
- At least 100,000 tons of CO₂ eq. reduced or avoided within the first ten (10) years after the commercialization of the product, technology, or innovation;
- Submitted by an SME established in Quebec and conducting internal production or R&D activities there;
- Carried out in collaboration with another Quebec company or a public research institution in Quebec (IRPQ);
- Focus on developing a new product or process, or significantly improving an existing product or process;
- Involve the necessary level of innovation, meaning the product or process must offer a decisive advantage over existing market solutions and in the industry at the national or international level;
- Involve technological or business risk or uncertainty for the SME;
- Demonstrate commercial potential or significant deployment potential if the product or process is intended for sale;
- Be a one-off project.

- “MEMBER” Approach: April 15, 2025 (latest), with the opportunity to benefit from the CRIAQ Scientific Committee’s expertise to enhance your application.
To submit your Letter of Intent (LOI), please contact the person responsible for the call for proposals. He will provide the form link and instructions. The CRIAQ project portfolio team will assist you in budget preparation with proven tools for prequalification and securing funding. The INNOV-R SME measure is made possible through the Fonds d’électrification et de changements climatiques (FECC), with funds administered by the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec (MEIE).
