National Research and Innovation Policy (PNRI) cites CRIAQ as an exemplary model for collaboration

The Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Pierre Duchesne, today unveiled the 2014-2019 National Research and Innovation Policy (PNRI). The Quebec government will invest $3.7 billion over five years and will prioritize seven strategic fields, including aerospace.

This unprecedented investment demonstrates the government’s focus on research and innovation as cornerstones of our economic growth. It should be noted that this policy encourages all innovation stakeholders to work together. In fact, collaborations with teams of international researchers are a key element of the PNRI.

CRIAQ is proud to have been cited as an exemplary model for collaboration and exchange among industries, universities and research centres. “We will work in partnership with the government and the various stakeholders to build an even more efficient ecosystem for research and innovation,” said Clément Fortin, President and CEO of CRIAQ.

The CRIAQ team is particularly pleased with the renewed investments accorded to the sectoral clusters, which are now spread over a five-year period. This longer-term vision will ensure stable funding for research projects.
