The 3rd call for multi-sectoral Innov-R projects is launched on June 18, 2020 to gather the largest number of collaborative R&D projects. CRIAQ is awaiting your application for your aerospace project having an impact on the reduction of GHG emissions!

Details of the program

The fight against climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century to ensure the sustainable development of the people of Quebec and the world. Quebec, which has made it a priority for more than a decade, is acting simultaneously on two fronts: reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and increasing its capacity to adapt to climate change. With respect to GHG emissions, Quebec has set ambitious targets, namely a 20% reduction in GHG emissions compared with 1990 levels by 2020 and 37.5% by 2030.

The Innov-R program is deployed by the RSRIs with the support of the Québec government. This measure is part of the implementation of Priority 4 of the Climate Change Action Plan 2013-2020 (CCAP 2013-2020), funded by the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques. Thus, the program aims to foster the emergence of innovative collaborative projects in strategic economic sectors that will enable Quebec to move forward and achieve its GHG emission reduction objectives more quickly. The RSRIs have been designated by the Government of Quebec to act as intermediary and funding bodies for collaborative research. Through their mandate, they promote the transfer of knowledge and the appropriation of innovation by businesses in various key sectors of the economy.

Eligible Projects

Projects eligible for the INNOV-R program must demonstrate a concrete potential for reducing GHG emissions in Quebec.

Projects must involve at least one company established in Quebec and carrying out in-house production or research and development activities and at least one Institut de recherche public du Québec (IRPQ) (university, college centre for technology transfer (CCTT) or public research centre established in Quebec). Other partners such as NPOs, Crown corporations, public organizations, municipalities, businesses outside Quebec and others may also be involved in the project. The main applicant must be affiliated with an IRPQ.

Under the INNOV-R program, only projects with a technological maturity level (TML) of 1 to 6 are eligible. To determine the starting TML of your project, you can contact Mohammed Boutouba, CRIAQ project manager, directly.

Information session

An information webinar was held on July 9 on the Innov-R funding program. This webinar organized by CRIAQ is intended for aerospace companies that have a project that has an impact on GHG reduction.

Clothilde Petitjean, CRIAQ’s Director of Programs, and Mohammed Boutouba, Project Manager, presented the Innov-R program (its context, eligibility criteria and possible funding) and answered questions from participants.
