The RDV Forum 2025 – Generations of Ideas will gather experts, innovators and decision makers to explore emerging trends, current challenges and future opportunities in the aerospace field. It goes without saying that students are an integral part of this ecosystem. We invite students who have or had contributed to a CRIAQ project to come and present their thesis or dissertation during the event.

Contest Details 

Candidates must present their thesis or dissertation clearly and convincingly in a maximum of 180 seconds during the RDV Forum on February 26, 2025. Candidates selected to present will receive a free ticket allowing them to attend both days of the RDV Forum (February 25 and 26, 2025).  

The deadline for submitting applications is January 17, 2025, at 4 PM EST. 

Prizes:

  • 1st prize → $1000 
  • 2nd prize → $750 
  • 3rd prize → $500 

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a Master’s or Doctoral student and have completed their thesis or dissertation as part of a project funded by CRIAQ. 
  • The candidate must ensure they have all the necessary authorizations from all partners of the project related to their thesis or dissertation to participate in this contest. CRIAQ reserves the right to request proof of these authorizations at any time. 
  • The presented thesis or dissertation must be related to the CRIAQ 2035 Roadmap vectors: sustainable aerospace, future air mobility, and digital aviation systems.
  • Candidates selected to present their thesis must attend the RDV Forum in person on February 26, 2025. 
  • Presentations must respect the maximum allowed time of 180 seconds. 
  • Presentations can be in French or English. 

Application Submission

No later than January 17, 2025, at 4 PM EST, candidates must have provided the following documents:  

  • A summary of your research project presenting the problem, objectives, methodological and theoretical approach, and an overview of the impacts of your aerospace project, in French or English. 
  • A PowerPoint presentation consisting of a maximum of 3 slides, in both French and English (2 presentations of 3 slides each with exactly the same content). The slides can include a short video. 

    Selection Process and Additional Information 

    Applications (summary and PPT presentation) will be reviewed by a selection committee. The results of this pre-selection will be communicated during the week of January 20, 2025. Pre-selected candidates will be invited to present their thesis in 180 seconds, with their PPT presentation, on February 26, 2025, during the RDV Forum. Winning applications will be determined by votes on the mobile application by the audiance during the RDV Forum.
