Members present at our RDV AGA 2024 were privileged to attend the unveiling of the first part of the Success Stories: From Collaboration to Innovation.
These video series will help to better understand the impact of collaborating with CRIAQ in the development of large-scale projects. These videos feature testimonials from partners on the impact of CRIAQ.
The first part focuses on MANU-1719: “Thermal spray coating for static seals subjected to high temperatures in aircraft engines“. These very high temperatures, combined with extreme vibrations, create wear on static seals in gas turbines. The development of innovative coatings that are more resistant to damage will make static seals more reliable and longer-lasting.
This project has resulted in the training of a dozen students and the creation of four patents.
The project team includes the companies Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Eutectic, as well as both Concordia and McGill universities. Funding was made possible by the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie (MEIE) and the Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada (CRSNG).
We thank the following people for their testimonies:
